Founded in 1831 by the Society of Jesus, the University of Namur perpetuates humanist values in teaching and research: openness, excellence, freedom and sustainability. Its priority is to train students and researchers to become responsible players in society.
Located at the heart of Europe, in Namur, the capital of Wallonia in the French-speaking part of Belgium, the University of Namur has around 7,200 students and 7 faculties offering more than 90 courses. The University is also active in the field of research, with 11 interdisciplinary institutes conducting studies in various fields such as nanotechnology ethics, linguistics, computer science, human rights, veterinary and social sciences, among others.
The quality of its teaching and the excellence of its research have enabled UNamur to develop cooperation and exchange programmes that benefit students, researchers and professors.
Thanks to its international network based on more than 250 agreements with foreign universities and faculties on every continent, UNamur offers its undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain international experience, whether through study trips or internships in partner laboratories or international companies.
